Katie O. took the book, ‘Twelve by Twelve’ (a memoir set in rural NC) to North Carolina with her while she did trail work in partnership with the National Parks Service the Student Conservation Association along the Blue Ridge Parkway for one month. She was amazed by the connections it drew to the surroundings, the segregation, and different social classes that she came across on a daily basis while living in the south.
Raymond M. is reading the book ‘The Craft Beer Revolution: How A Band Of Microbreweries Is Transforming The World’s Favorite Drink’ by Steve Hindy. Here he is brewing some home made beer (a version of Olde Burnside’s Ten Penny Ale) off the back of his truck.
Amy D. used the book “Popcorn: 100 Sweet and Savory Recipes” by Carol Beckerman to make County Fair Kettle Corn. —And she can’t wait to try several other recipes from the book as well!
